ECONOMIC JOURNAL OF NEPAL (EJN)

The Economic Journal of Nepal (EJN) is a quarterly publication of Central Department of Economics (CEDECON), TU. The primary objective of this journal is to publish articles and research papers on economic and social issues facing Nepal and other developing countries of the world. Thus, it aims to provide an intellectual forum for the communication of ideas among economists and social scientists in the areas of economic and social development. The EJN first appeared in 1977 and since then 128 issues of the EJN have been published regularly during the last twenty-five years. The authors are invited to send in their research papers and articles for publication in the standard format prescribed by the EJN

Guidelines to the Contributiors

• Articles, Research Papers and Book Reviews are welcome. Papers submitted to the journal should be in English.
• The submission of an article to this Journal assumes that the article has not been published and it is not submitted elsewhere for publication.
• The length of article should not exceed 6000 words excluding tables, annex, footnotes, end notes and references. The paper must be in 12 points font Times New Roman, 1.5 spaced with one inch margin on all sides.
• Manuscript should be accompanied by an abstract (of about 150 words). Its structure should tightly follow that of the paper itself, concentrating on main findings and conclusions.
• The author can submit the article either in a virus-free CD or by email at cedeconjournal@gmail.com . Each submission should also include a brief note about the author(s) including name and complete mailing address of the institution where he/she belongs, his/her position in the institution, email, telephone and fax-numbers.
• The opinions expressed in the articles are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect and views of Executive Editor(s) or the publisher.
• Articles are accepted on the understanding that they subject to editorial changes and revisions.
• Mathematical and other formulas and symbols should be clearly typed. Diagrams/figures should be clearly drawn on separate page(s).
• References of the paper and citation in the main text should complete and accurate and needs to arrange according to the American psychological Association (APA) style.
• A complete list of footnotes numbered serially may be given on a separate page at the end of the paper.

Nepalese Economy: Towards Building a Strong Economic Nation-State
Besides these regular publications, CEDECON has occasionally been publishing books relating to the contents of contemporary issues . The current published book entitled Nepalese Economy: Towards Building a Strong Economic Nation State, edited by Professor Dr. Madan Kumar Dahal is a maiden scholastic venture of CEDECON. The book contains twenty-eight papers on Nepalese economy authored by prominent economists and scholars from within and outside the country. The contour and contents of the book cover a wide spectrum of Nepalese economy ranging from poverty, environment, remittances to conflict economy; from agriculture, tourism, human resources to industrial development; from monetary policy, balance of payments, unemployment to value added taxation (VAT); from WTO, regional cooperation, financial sector reform, local financing to women and development. CEDECON has also published selected thesis prepared by master’s level students of economics.
